Having been reared by two clinical psychologists, Alison Lani had little choice but to be fascinated the complexities of affect, motivation, character and behavior. Her love of the stage began in grade school productions of The Brementown Musicians and The Jungle Book. While in high school in a Chicago suburb, she pursued her passion in Speech, Contest Play and other dramatic arts. Upon receiving a BFA in acting at Ithaca College, Alison returned to Chicago to pursue a professional career. She appeared in productions at Redmoon, Chicago Dramatists, Writers Theatre and First Folio, while booking national commercials and joining Actors' Equity and the Screen Actors' Guild. Alison booked her first leading role on the regional stage in 2008, having been cast by Michael Bloom to play Laura in the Cleveland Playhouse production of The Glass Menagerie. She studied improv with Michael Gellman at The Second City and scene study with Steve Scott at The Goodman Theatre. She appeared in principal roles in two independent shorts, Book of Matches and Closing Time in 2009. The following year, Alison moved to Los Angeles and began working on the set of Hawthorne, while studying with the Upright Citizens Brigade. She continued to appear in indie films and national commercials. Shortly thereafter, she appeared in her first lead in a feature film, Hazard Jack directed by David Worth. Alison recently made her Los Angeles stage debut as Alais in The Lion in Winter opposite John Lee and Diane Hurley. Alison is writing and producing an original comedy webseries, Burning Bridges (2013), for which she obtained funding via Indiegogo.
